GFI LanGuard Installation
By Mr Singh

Hello Everyone!
GFI LanGuard is a network audit and patch management solution that helps users easily manage and maintain end point protection across every device within a Local Area Network. It offers IT administrators the ability to scan computers and servers on the network to detect and resolve security threats. It supports Windows, Mac, and Linux computers and mobile devices, and offers vulnerability assessment, patch management, and network audit. It has a check database to identify system and network weaknesses, using the top 20 vulnerability guidelines: OVAL, CVE, SANS etc.
GFI LanGuard uses a database server to store information from security audits and remediation — either SQL Server Express 2008 R2 or later, or SQL Server 2008 R2 or later.
GFI LanGuard is available both as a licensed product for large networks and as a free, full-featured version scanning up to 5 IP addresses.
You need to create an account to download GFI LanGuard, and it will send you a key by email.
System Requirements: for 1 to 100 computers — Processor: 2GHz Dual core, Physical storage: 5 GB, RAM: 2GB, Network bandwidth: 1544 kbps.
Installation: launch the GFI LanGuard installer. A popup will show — select the language and click Next.
Select GFI LanGuard and click Next. The installation will automatically download and install any missing components.
Fill in the username and password used when you registered for download, and click Sync — it will automatically detect the license key. Alternatively, enter the license key manually.
In the database server configuration, it will detect the server name and SQL database name if SQL Server is installed on your system. Provide SQL Server authentication or use Windows Authentication.
Accept the License Agreement, enter the attendant service credentials (administrative credentials and password), and click Next.
Choose the install folder (default or custom) and click Install.
Once installation completes, click Finish and launch GFI LanGuard — it's now ready to scan the target.
